Bill Hornbostel has practiced law since 1975 and has mediated over 1000 cases. In 1996, he received a master's degree in counseling from UCCS. He teaches mediation, conflict resolution and negotiation courses to graduate students at UCCS and at Drake University Law School, and has developed and teaches a program on "Capturing the Creative Power of Conflict". He works with business, governmental and non-profit groups to improve conflict resolution skills for both management and staff and assists in resolving difficult workplace conflicts. In addition to his mediation work, he is a faculty member for the Center for Creative Leadership, working on executive leadership development and teaches for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy on a regular basis. He was senior litigation attorney for Colorado Interstate Gas Company and Associate Director for Clinical Programs at Drake University Law School. He has extensive experience in the trial of cases in many areas of the law including contract, family, criminal, personal injury, special education, commercial and oil and gas.
